Best Payoneer Alternative in Pakistan for Freelancers (2026)

Payoneer still works, but its fees add up and a blocked account can stop your income. Here is every real alternative for Pakistani freelancers, compared by who pays you.

The best Payoneer alternative in Pakistan depends on who pays you. If your clients are in the US, a USD account with US account details in your own name (Elevate Pay, nsave or HandlePay) lets them pay you by ACH and lets you keep dollars. If a client abroad sends a SWIFT wire, a bank freelancer account works too. If you sell on Fiverr, nothing fully replaces Payoneer yet, because Fiverr's working payout routes all run through it. And Wise still won't give USD account details to anyone with a Pakistan address.

Pakistani freelancers earned a record $1.76 billion in FY2025-26, up from $984 million the year before, according to State Bank of Pakistan data reported by Profit. Every fee below was checked on 27 October 2026 against each provider's own page.

Key takeaways

  • There's no single best Payoneer alternative. Match the option to your payer: US clients, Upwork, Fiverr or clients wiring from abroad.
  • Payoneer charges 1% to receive USD from a client and 1.2% to 4% to convert to rupees at a local bank, plus $29.95 a year if you receive under $6,000 in 12 months.
  • For US clients, a USD account with ACH details is the closest like-for-like swap. Elevate Pay, nsave and HandlePay all offer one to Pakistanis.
  • Fiverr sellers should keep Payoneer. Fiverr offers no payout to US account details.
  • Wise lists Pakistan among the countries where you can't get USD account details.

Is there a good alternative to Payoneer in Pakistan?

Yes, for most payers. US clients and Upwork can pay into a USD account with US account details in your name, which several apps now offer Pakistanis. Clients abroad can wire a bank freelancer account. Fiverr is the exception: its working payout routes go through Payoneer, so Fiverr sellers usually keep Payoneer alongside a second option.

Most freelancers don't need to leave Payoneer completely. They need a second route so one account isn't their whole income. Start by listing who paid you last quarter and how much each paid. That tells you which alternative matters.

Why are Pakistani freelancers looking for a Payoneer alternative?

Two reasons come up most: cost and risk. Payoneer charges 1% to receive USD from a client and 1.2% to 4% to withdraw to a local bank with conversion. And if your account is blocked or closed, Payoneer says it can't share the specific reason, which can leave your income stuck with no clear way forward.

Here's what Payoneer's own fees page lists (last updated 1 January 2026):

  • Receiving into a non-local currency account: 1%, with a $1 minimum.
  • A client paying you by card: up to 3.99% + $0.49.
  • Withdrawing to a local bank with currency conversion: 1.2% to 4%.
  • Annual account fee: $29.95, only if you receive less than $6,000 in any 12 months.

On a $1,000 client payment, that's $10 to receive and $12 to $40 to reach your bank in rupees. That's $22 to $50 gone before the rupees land, and it comes back on every payment.

The second reason is harder to plan around. Payoneer's help centre lists the reasons it may block or close an account, including details that can't be verified or don't match your documents, and holding more than one account. It also says it "can't share the specific reason" for a block because of regulatory requirements. That's why a second way to get paid matters.

Payoneer alternatives in Pakistan compared

Elevate Pay, nsave and HandlePay give Pakistanis US account details for ACH, so US clients pay you like a local contractor. WorldFirst suits registered businesses. SadaPay Biz takes card payments through a link and pays out in rupees. A bank freelancer account takes SWIFT wires. Wise doesn't offer USD account details for Pakistan addresses.

A few things the tables can't show:

  • Elevate Pay's Pakistan page lists zero receiving fees and a flat $1.50 withdrawal, and sign-up takes a CNIC and a selfie check.
  • nsave says customer funds sit with regulated UK and EEA financial institutions, and that it isn't a bank.
  • WorldFirst markets its World Account to businesses. Check that you qualify as an individual freelancer before you send a client its details.
  • SadaPay Biz caps incoming payments, outgoing payments and balance at PKR 500,000, and approval takes 2 to 3 business days.

Can I use Wise instead of Payoneer in Pakistan?

Not for receiving USD. Wise's help centre lists Pakistan among the countries where you can't get USD account details, and it restricts Wise Business for personal profiles with a Pakistan address. Until Wise changes that, Pakistani freelancers need one of the other options for US clients.

Many freelancer guides still list Wise as the default Payoneer alternative, and that holds in plenty of countries, but not for a Pakistan address. We track the status in our guide to how to receive USD in Pakistan.

Which Payoneer alternative works for Fiverr?

None fully, for now. Fiverr's withdrawal page lists PayPal, a Payoneer account and bank transfer via Payoneer. PayPal doesn't open accounts for Pakistan residents, and Fiverr doesn't pay out to US account details. So Fiverr sellers keep Payoneer and use an alternative for direct clients.

Fiverr charges $3 to move earnings into your Payoneer account and $1 for a bank transfer through Payoneer. Payoneer's own conversion fee then applies when you take rupees. If Fiverr is a small part of your income, it can make sense to withdraw less often and in larger amounts. Our freelancer payment methods comparison breaks down every Fiverr and Upwork route.

What's the best Payoneer alternative for US clients and Upwork?

A USD account with US account details in your own name. A US client pays it by ACH, the normal way US businesses pay contractors. Upwork's Direct to U.S. Bank method also needs a US account that accepts ACH, in a name that matches your verified Upwork profile. You keep dollars and choose when to convert.

For your client, ACH is a domestic payment, so there's no international wire to arrange. You send a routing number, an account number, your full legal name and the account type. We explained each field in how to receive ACH payments in Pakistan.

For Upwork, a new Direct to U.S. Bank method becomes active three days after you confirm it, and Upwork says payments usually arrive in two to five business days. We're confirming Upwork payouts into HandlePay with a live payment before we publish a setup guide, so keep your current Upwork method for now.

How do I switch from Payoneer without missing a payment?

Don't close Payoneer first. Open the new account, verify your identity, and move one client at a time. Send each client your new details with a short note, wait for the first payment to land, then update the next client. Keep Payoneer open for Fiverr and any client who hasn't switched.
1

List your payers

Note each one's country and how they pay you today.

2

Pick an option per payer

using the tables above. One USD account can cover every US client.

3

Verify your identity

in the new account so the details are in your own name. A payment sent to details in a different name can be returned.

4

Move your smallest client first

Confirm the payment lands, then move the rest.

5

Withdraw your Payoneer balance on a day the rate suits you

The rate often costs more than the fee, as we showed in [why you get fewer rupees than the Google rate](/blog/why-you-get-fewer-rupees-than-google-rate/).

Where HandlePay fits

HandlePay gives you a dollar account with US account details in your own name, for ACH and SWIFT. You verify your identity once, share your details from the app, and your client pays you like a local contractor. Your balance stays in dollars until you decide to cash out, then reaches any Pakistani bank in your name within minutes, at the Google rate. Only you can move your money.

It doesn't replace Payoneer for Fiverr, and Upwork is still being tested. For US clients and clients who wire from abroad, it covers both.

FAQs

It depends on your payer. For US clients, a USD account with ACH details, such as Elevate Pay, nsave or HandlePay. For SWIFT wires from abroad, a bank freelancer account or US account details that accept SWIFT. For Fiverr, Payoneer is still the working route.
